Christopher S. Fuss (Chris) is the product of a Methodist parsonage. His mother and father, The Rev. & Mrs. Harold Fuss, served 44 years in the Virginia Conference. They now reside in Roanoke, Virginia.Chris graduated from Cradock High School in Portsmouth, Virginia in 1969 and then attended Virginia Tech. While there, he majored in Forestry and Wildlife and met Carolyn Davis of Albemarle County. During the summer of 1973, he received his B.S. degree from Virginia Tech and entered into a covenant of marriage with Carolyn.
Working for the Virginia State Police for 28 years as a trooper, he specializing in advanced accident reconstruction, became a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, co-authored a teaching manual for accident reconstruction, and taught classes in accident reconstruction, CPR/First Aid, and breath-alcohol testing. During his service, he was presented two Life Saving Awards by the American Red Cross and spent his last 23 years stationed in Albemarle County.
In May 2003, Chris took early retirement from the State Police, and in June entered the ministry taking an appointment at Westover UMC in Greene County where he served for one year.
Chris and Carolyn have 4 grown children; Chuck, Christie, Carrie and Cassie; 4 step-grandchildren; George, Jessica, Jonathan and Stephanie; 2 grandsons; Brendan and Matthew; and 1 granddaughter; Alexis.
