Children In Worship
We provide folders with crayons and coloring pages in our Narthex for any children who would like extra activities to keep their attention during Worship. You will also find a box with sensory objects for those children and adults who would like to utilize them. Please ask an usher or greeter to show you where to find these. Each Sunday both of our worship services include a Children’s Message, this is a special time dedicated to our children.
After the Children’s Message in both worship services, all children (ages 4/Pre-K through 5th grade) are invited to join us for Children’s Church! We currently have one combined class during our 9AM worship service, and three classes during our 11AM worship, one for children in Pre-K & K, one for children in 1st and 2nd grades, and one for children in grades 3 through 5. Each class has an adult leader and an adult or youth assistant. Each week the children spend time hearing and reading exciting Bible stories, learning about Jesus’ love for all, playing games, and making crafts. On the first Sunday of each month the children return to worship during Communion so that they may experience this meaningful Sacrament as a family. Children’s Church is currently not held on the fifth Sunday of the month so that children and our wonderful volunteers may participate in Worship with their families.
Near the back of the Sanctuary (right beside a family restroom with a changing table) we have a parent room, which is accessible through the Narthex and parlor. We encourage children and parents to stay in Worship, however, if you would feel more comfortable in the parent room (where you can hear and see worship) with your child(ren) you’re welcome to access this room at anytime. You’ll find rocking chairs, a loveseat, and many toys for your smallest blessings. If you have trouble finding this room please ask an usher or greeter for assistance.
The nursery is available for infants through age 3 during Sunday school and both Worship services. Our nursery is professionally staffed with adults who look forward each week to caring for our youngest friends and getting to know their families!
A Sunday School class for children, ages 4/Pre-K through 5th grade, meets each Sunday from 10AM until 10:50 in room 106 and uses the Deep Blue curriculum where the children hear, see, and live their “Belief In God.” These Bible-based lessons are fun and exciting! Each week, the class studies the same Bible story with different age appropriate stories and crafts. Join us and watch the Bible come alive for your children!
