Youth Ministry

Youth Group

The mission of the AUMC Youth is to grow together through Christ by serving others, bonding with Christian friends, and discovering our faith. AUMC Youth Group is for Middle School/Junior High (6th-8th grades) and High School/Senior High (9th-12th grades)  and meets on Sunday evenings during the school year from 6pm until 7:30pm. Dinner is provided by parents, or any willing church volunteer, at 6 pm and programs, games and other activities follow. Throughout the year we participate in fundraisers, service projects, retreats, weekly Youth Group, and so much more! On Sundays when the Youth Praise Band rehearses from 3:15 to 4:45 we also have Youth Study Camp from 5pm until 6pm in the Youth Room. This give our youth a chance to catch up on homework and have a place to hang out in between meetings without having to find a way home and back to church.

For more information, please contact Carolyn Robertson at (434) 973-5806 or CarolynRobertson@cvaumc.org

Youth Sunday School

A Sunday School class for youth, grades 6th through 12th grade, meets each Sunday from 10AM until 10:50 in the Youth Room. This is a time of fellowship and Christian Education where our Youth are invited to ask questions about faith, the world we live in, and life in general.

Acolyte Ministry

The mission of the Aldersgate Acolyte Ministry is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who will also serve as leaders in Christ’s Church.  This ministry is a youth run and an adult supported ministry.  This ministry offers the opportunity for the children, youth, and young adults of Aldersgate to find areas to serve in worship, and continue to explore their faith. This a “Leadership Ministry” designed to help our youth through the 12th grade, grow as leaders while learning to communicate and work with each other during worship and training events and to ultimately be a representative for Christ as they grow to become leaders in their church, their family, their school and their community.
