Trust in The Lord with your whole heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all ways, submit yourself to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Part of being Christian means trusting God to take care of you and to help you stay on the path that God has created for you. We may not know what the future holds, or how we’re going to get there, but the good news is this: God does.

My junior year of high school I had a teacher who became a great mentor for me, not only because she was a great teacher and supporter, but because she was also a Christian. I had her sign my yearbook, and when I read her note, I was in awe to find that she had written Proverbs 3:5-6 after her signature. That, to me, was a sign from God: I was so worried about my grades last year that I didn’t realize that the only thing God wanted was for me to give my stress to him, so that he could handle it, and take that burden away from me.

Now that I am senior it is even more important for me to remember to rely on God to guide my steps and to lead me where I’m supposed to be. I may not know which college I will attend next fall, or the grades I’m going to get at the end of the year, but I do know one thing: God is going to be there. He’s going to place us where we need to be, and even if it’s not where we desire to be, God’s plans are superior to ours. Our only duty is to simply trust his word, his plans, and his guidance.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for being a shoulder to lean on. We ask that you guide our steps, and let us remember your ways and your plans are greater than ours. Amen.
