In 2007, a significant addition was made to Aldersgate UMC's building. This addition contains our new Sanctuary and Welcome Center. It also has unfinished space that will eventually become a large Fellowship Hall.

After several years of design and another year of obtaining Albemarle County approval, construction of this addition began in February 2007. On December 23, 2007, Aldersgate UMC celebrated its first Worship Service in the new Sancutary. To document the construction effort, numerous pictures were taken including the slide show below:
