Reverend Scott E. Davis started at Aldersgate in July 2010 as the Senior Pastor. Scott came to AUMC after serving eleven years at Trinity UMC, an intergenerational congregation in the Beverley Hills neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.

Scott is a native of Davis Wharf, a bayside village on Virginia's Eastern Shore, and grew up on a farm there. He is a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College (BA) in and received his theological education and training for pastoral ministry at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He served a British Methodist congregation in the inner city of London, England, as Chaplain of Virginia Wesleyan College, and as pastor of the historic Nimmo UMC in Virginia Beach before his appointment at Trinity UMC. He enjoys hiking, visiting local coffee houses, taking day trips with his family, and early morning walks with their Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, Chloe.

Scott's wife Laurie is a native of Norfolk, Virginia, who spent much of her childhood in Vermont. She is an excellent cook, a talented artist, and enjoys teaching second grade. Scott and Laurie are the proud parents of Sarah and Jordan. Sarah is a rising sophomore at The University of Mary Washington, is active in the Campus Christian Community there, loves to ride horses, and is an avid Beatles fan. Jordan is a rising high school senior, a Boy Scout, likes long boarding, and is interested in sustainable agriculture. He enjoys working on cars and owns a 1968 Mercury Cougar.
