Sunday Mornings

Contemporary Worship – 9:00AM

This service is informal and engages children in worship through interactive participation in song and dance. The music includes a mix of groups led by the worship band with piano accompanist, hymns, and modern Christian music. Communion is served each week. After the Children’s Message in the sanctuary, children may remain in the sanctuary or leave for Children’s Worship.

Traditional Worship – 11:00AM

This service is more formal in presentation and uses both printed and extemporaneous prayers. A crucifer and acolytes join the procession with our pastors. The music includes congregational hymns, choral anthems, organ, handbells, and instrumental ensemble with Communion on the first Sunday of each month. After the Children’s Message in the sanctuary, children may remain in the sanctuary or leave for Children’s Worship.

Dinner Church

In September we launched a new worship experience – Dinner Church. Dinner Church is not a fellowship meal or potluck – it’s an opportunity for people to connect to God and one another through worship with a simple meal, biblical message, music, prayer, and Holy Communion.  It’s a time of worship for people who are not likely to worship in a traditional setting on Sunday mornings.

If you would like to learn more about this new ministry, please reach out to Pastor Julie, JulieNitzsche@cvaumc.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your current Covid-19 procedures?2021-07-03T13:10:56-04:00

Recent Update (Already in Effect)

  1. Wednesday night outdoor worship – Masks are no longer required at all, but those who prefer may certainly wear one.
  2. Sunday morning fellowship – Our fellowship time after worship may be indoors (with masks on) or outdoors (where masks may be removed).  The Reed Room is in use for classes between 10-11 am; so post-9 am fellowship may be in the sanctuary, narthex, and welcome center (downstairs).  Post 11 am, fellowship may be in the Reed Room as well as any other spaces.
  3. Sunday morning worship – We are still all wearing masks when we enter the church building.  Once seated in a “Masks may be Removed” section, masks may be removed.  Seating in pews is no longer limited to just the ends of the pews.  (The 6’ yellow tape in the middle of each pew has been removed.)  Use your own judgment (and be sensitive to others) for spacing.  The section in front of the parents’ room (one of the sections where masks remain on) will still be marked for social distancing.
  4. Life Groups and other small group gatherings that meet in-person can decide whether they may remove their masks while meeting.
  5. For Children’s Ministry, while indoors adults and youth leaders and children will continue to wear masks (except while eating).  While outdoors, children may remove their masks if they like, but adult and youth leaders will keep their masks on (except while eating).

Starting July 4:

  •  Congregational singing while wearing masks will be allowed.  Hymnals & Bibles will return to the pew racks.
